About your host, Mao Tran

Pipe smoker, Vespa lovers, craftman, coffee maker, thriftshop owner.... you name it!

What we will do

Photography may be overwhelmingly digital nowadays, but the influence of film never loses its presence to this day. From photo app filters that emulate the look of film to the new digital cameras designed to look like vintage ones, film continues to influence the way we perceive the aesthetics of photography in general.

This experience is designed to bring us back to this nostalgic, yet inspiring photography school. For the first 30 mins, we'll go through the basic knowledge of film photography and the last 60 mins are saved mainly for practicing. I'll show you tricks to instantly improve your photos! Then we could have your negatives developed at a nearby shop and you could see your final products in a few days (you could come back to pick it up later!)

What we will provide

- A drink of your choice
- A camera (to be returned at the end), or you could bring your own
- A roll of film (if you request for more than 1, there'll be an extra cost, just let me know in advance!)
- We show you the place to develop the photos (with an extra cost upon your wish)

Who can do this

Anyone who has a love for photography and especially the analog cameras.

Why you should do this

Film photography requires more focus and patience as you can't just easily delete and take new ones like the digital one but each photo will be very different from another and it has a unique finish

Where we will do this

TK22/11 Đường Nguyễn Cảnh Chân
TK22/11 Đường Nguyễn Cảnh Chân, Cầu Kho, Quận 1, Hồ Chí Minh, Vietnam

Notes

Please be on time and be gentle on my camera!

Mao and his wife are a very nice couple. They're not so strict with the 90 min set duration. If they're free, they're willing to stay longer... + Read
