Secret Waterfalls Trekking, A Different Taste of Dalat

Our newest trek goes into the Two Rivers Wilderness area of Bidoup Nui Ba National Park in search of some of the most remote and beautiful waterfalls in Vietnam. This 17 km trek takes you from an elevation of 1,800 meters up to 1,950 meters before bringing you down through jungle fringed valleys and pine forested glades to the lake below at 1,400 meters.

About your host, Phat Tire Ventures

PTV Vietnam is the longest running adventure sports outfitter in Vietnam specializing in mountain biking, white water rafting, trekking, rock climbing and canyoning. We have offices in both Dalat and Hoi An.

What we will do

We start our day with a 40 minute drive up into the Bidoup National Park area on a mountainous ridgeline that runs northwest of the Langbian Mountain area. As we make our way up in elevation we start to see glimpses of the deep jungle area off to the east.

We start our trek by slowly wandering uphill to an elevation of over 1,900 meters and pass through areas of both jungle and pine forest. The trail is mostly moderate and the ascent is gradual. We get spectacular views of jungle maned mountains and valleys in the distance.

Just before the midway point of our trek we veer off onto a barely visible trail that leads to a series of secluded waterfalls known to the local indigenous people as ‘Da Lo’. We spend some time here relaxing and soaking in the scenery, and if the weather is right (warm) we can swim in the crystal clear water at the base of one of the falls.

We continue our trek from here and move through sections of jungle areas before descending into the pine forested area below. We eventually meet the river that we follow for a while and pick out a peaceful spot beside it for lunch.

Dalat is known as the vegetable garden of Vietnam and lunch offers you a chance to try some of the areas tasty produce.

After lunch we move into a valley that is covered with small farms growing everything from fruits and vegetables to flowers. We move through this valley and over to the base of Langbian Mountain, where our vehicle meets us for the 20 minute drive back to Dalat.
